Helping Out at the Central Illinois Regional

While Winnovation isn't competing in regional this weekend, a group of seven Winnovation students and mentors are headed down to central Illinois on Saturday March 1st to volunteer at the first ever Central Illinois FRC Regional.

Last summer during the innagural Rock River Offseason Competition (R2OC), a number of long-time FIRSTers from around the state headed to Rockford to help out at our event.  Winnovation realized how important it is to have experienced help at a first-time event and decided to head down to Pekin, IL for this event.  The team will be helping out in a number of places including safety glasses table, practice field, crowd control, and even refereeing on the competition field.

In addition, another half dozen students and mentors will be enjoying the competition as spectators.  We will be cheering loudly for three of our R2OC co-hosts (Flaming Monkeys, Rockford Robotics, and Stateline Robotics) and our friends the Chicago Knights and PWNAGE as they compete at Central Illinois.  We'll also be taking a close look at robots and teams we'll see later in the season at the Wisconsin Regional (March 21-22) and Midwest Regional (April 4-5).  Plus, it's a great opportunity to fine-tune our scouting system before we use it for the first time.
